Many, many moons ago, I took a studio class at my local community college where I learned studio lighting and posing on film. It was really hard. It wasn't until after the film was manually developed in a darkroom, dried, and a proof sheet was made, that you got a chance to see if what you did worked. I enjoyed the class but decided I much preferred natural light and proceeded to call myself a natural light photographer for the next 15 years.
Well now fast forward to the last month, I decided to give it a second chance and I have been LOVING it! I have taken some classes and visited most of the local Orange County Studios to find a studio that felt like the right fit. I have been learning so much and it has reinvigorated my passion for photography and a side to it I didn't know I liked.
I think this is going to open SO many opportunities for me and I can't wait to show you more of what I have been working really hard on.
Here are some of my favorite images I took at Lumino Studios in Placentia today. They had an open house and I got a chance to see their studio, photograph and work with models, and network with some amazing and talented photographers (that was definitely my favorite part). The local community of photogs is really welcoming and I am looking forward to more events, workshops, and learning from the best.
What do you think? Do you think I made a good decision to give it another chance add studio work to my repertoire?
